NEW GENERAL SESSION TOPIC ANNOUNCED!
Operational Inefficiencies and Industry Initiatives in the Syndicated Loan Market
Syndicated Loan processing is one of the few remaining asset classes to benefit from industry embraced infrastructure changes aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing risk. A lack of standards, delayed loan trade settlement and accounting errors are but a few of the issues facing the Loan market. Since 2007, however, the industry has started to address the issues and now faces some fairly major processing changes.
Chris Childs, Managing Director of product management at DTCC and Tom Phillips, Managing Director of business development at Markit will present an overview of the operational issues in the Loan market and the current and future initiatives that will address them.
Industry Update Session – The European Securities Landscape; Challenges and Opportunities Ahead.
Like the United States, Europe is going through a myriad of regulatory-driven changes. This session will focus on a high-level overview of these changes and what it could potentially mean to ISITC! Matt Nelson, Director of Market Intelligence at Omgeo (and a former TowerGroup Analyst) will provide an industry update on Europe including; clearance & settlement segmentation brought on by MiFID, harmonization, CCP’s and more. Gary Probert, Chairman of ISITC and Managing Director, Citi Securities & Fund Services, will then review what the possible impacts of these issues mean to ISITC members, Outsourcers, Custodians, Investments Managers and Broker Dealers.
