Securities transactions depend on split-second timing and second-to-none accuracy and efficiency. How can a securities-trading company ensure it is using the most effective, up-to-date, and widely used communications processes to accomplish this?
It turns to the International Securities Association for Institutional Trade Communication.
ISITC is an organization that develops invaluable recommendations for straight-through processing and other electronic trade and communications procedures — recommendations that are repeatedly adopted by the industry and become standards that have transformed trading processes.
The association is unique in that it is not only for the industry, but by the industry. Over 1,500 individuals from 350 member organizations work together to generate the proposals that refine these processes market-wide.
The result is that those in the securities business are revolutionizing trading operations, benefiting themselves and the industry as a whole.
Chairman's Message:
It looks like it’s now my turn! I want to take this opportunity to thank Steve Goswell for the wonderful job he has done the past 2 years. He has definitely set the bar high for me and future chairs of the organization. I am just thankful that he has agreed to stay on as my speech writer…that should take away some of my worries. I am also lucky to have both Gary Probert from Citigroup and Dayle Scher from MFS along my side as first and second chairs……baseball season should be interesting…….
I look forward to seeing everybody in Boston during our 14th Annual Industry Forum and Vendor Show in Boston. This year’s theme is The Changing Landscape of our Financial Markets – Transformation in the Making. The program will focus on the changing financial landscape with the goal of understanding the challenges and exploring the opportunities available that can benefit our firms and our industry. We have several great speakers lined up, many new and some very familiar and entertaining ones too!
I want to take the opportunity to thank the Marketing Committee Co-Chairs, Michelle Pouliot and Thomas Kempf; Executive Sponsors, Jocelyn Gabriele and Beatriz Inigo; Vendor Forum Co-Chairs Maria McIsaac and Sara Banerjee; special thanks to Dennis Goodenough and Tom Brown and all of the other committee member volunteers for the dedication and hard work they have put into this year’s vendor show. It has been a very busy few months for all of them and I know the entire membership will be pleased with the sessions that have been arranged.
During the March Vendor Show, I will address the organization and highlight some of our key goals for the next 2 years. Remember, everything we do in ISITC is for the benefit of our members, so no voice is too small. The Board of Directors and I want to hear from you!!!
For anybody who plans to be across the pond in the UK, ISITC Europe will be hosting their spring quarterly meeting on March 13, 2008, and will be discussing the impacts of Target 2 Securities on their membership. We also anticipate welcoming a few of the ISITC Europe members to our meeting in March.
I will continue to provide all of you with frequent updates on the progress of some of the key initiatives we have been focusing on, and any new engagements with other industry organizations.
The next 2 years will be both fun and challenging and I am very excited for this opportunity.
